This is a 30×60 habotai sarong commissioned by a father for his young adult daughter. He wanted a colorful silk of a rather large size large so to be used in many ways. After receiving the silk for Christmas her father, my client, told me that she wasn’t really sure what to do with it. Most 22 year olds don’t wear scarves, I guess. He told me that he then told her she could wear it as a shawl, a scarf, a sarong, a skirt, a bathing suit cover up or a top.
He also told her that she could lay it on the couch, use it as a table covering or a wall hanging. When I met her shortly thereafter, she seemed genuinely happy and excited with her silk. It has a “dedication” to her from her loving father, and I think it will be something special to her for the rest of her life. A custom, heirloom piece can be a part of your loved one’s life forever. Prices for this size range from $250 and up depending on the detail.
